This morning around 3:30am I found GH sleeping on the floor. I have no idea why he would decide to sleep on the floor. I guess he is his own man.

GH's Big Day

I wasn't the best mommy today. I took GH to Lincoln to do some shopping. So he didn't get all his regular mama time. While I was jabbering with another shopper the cashier told me "He said 'I want that'". I missed another sentence:( But it's ok because I did hear him say something new today. Captain Awesome and I were sitting with him when we heard him clearly say "abc". I've heard him say random letters before. The alphabet is a pretty big deal around here. However, we were shocked that he actually got the sequence right:) Today he also learned how to push the button to roll down the window in the car.

What the toys are doing

Big Dogs train was on a "diplomatic mission" when it was falsely detained by the evil mommy empire. Red Five you are the only one who can save it.

Rooster says

Yesterday Rooster said "The rosary is broke. Mary's gonna be mad". We had to assure her that Mary would not be mad. Poor Rooster she's got the Catholic guilt already.

Some people have a hard time accepting things

Like when we run out of chips.

Someone might pull the bag out of the trash and see if there are any crumbs left. Some person was disappointed.

Saturday Seven

Seven Things That Happened This Week
1) Other kindergarten are rubbing off on Rooster. She always comes home saying things like she is losing a tooth, or she has chicken pox. I have to remind her that she was vaccinated for the chicken pox. And that her classmates are older than she is, so they will probably lose their teeth before her.
2) Rocky has been "running away" and "hiding" according to Ruzenka:D Since he has become a member of the family we are shopping for a code name for Rocky. So if you have suggestions please leave them in the comment section.
3) One of Roosters friends in school has a baby sister. So she is always shopping for a baby sister. So when Tiny Tim showed up she said "He can be my baby sister". I told her "Rooster HE is a boy so he will never be any ones sister. And just because his dad leaves him here doesn't mean we get to keep him.":D GH loved having another baby around. At dinner GH intentionally dropped his fork and said "Oh, no". Tiny Tim added "Ta-da". Yes---I was very impressed:D
4) Big Dog is enjoying being back in preschool. I got a message from the preschool today. (Our voicemail wasn't working for more than 24 hours....how annoying) They said that Big Dog is following directions, and answering questions for them. But, that they have had to work on him not growling. Apparently growling is not an acceptable way to answer your teacher;)
5) Captain Awesome had meetings this week. But, was able to get 1.5 days off. Woot!
6) I got to go out for Girls Night Out. My SIL Shell asked me what we did. I told her I wanted to blog that we were all out shooting whiskey all night. But, that this would probably not put my friends in the best light since they are pregnant. What we really did was go to Zestos to enjoy ice cream....and it was delicious.
7) Big Dog is laying on the floor beside me (trying to avoid going to bed) he made a "W" with his fingers.

The first snow

When GH looked outside this morning he saw the snow and said, "ohhhh". I think he was impressed. There wasn't a lot of snow. Most of it melted by noon. So when we got outside this afternoon there wasn't much left. Trouble had already stomped a lot of it down. Even though there wasn't much snow. The kids still enjoyed playing in it. GH would sit in a sled

or lay in a sled until someone decided to pull him.

When I put Big Dog in his snow suit I know he was excited. I think he knew there was something special about this kind of coat. He loved being able to do anything in his coat without getting wet. He had a blast going down the slide, falling in the mud etc.

I had a lot of cute pictures of Big Dog and GH in the sled. But, this is the first I found when going through photos.

Captain Awesome honored

Captain Awesome watched the kids tonight so I could go out with my friends. He is such a sweet heart:)

Finger strength

Rooster has struggled with pencil grasp for a while. But, now she is really making big strides. Her hands are getting much stronger. She actually enjoyed trying to get glue out of this bottle. Honestly, I know it's wasteful but I was ready to throw this bottle away earlier today. It is soooo hard to get glue out of it.

Saturday Seven

Seven Things That Happened This Week

1) Rooster wanted a purse. So this morning when I was at the thrift store "dollar a bag" sale. I picked up several purses. She chose a pink purse and a white wallet. I will post pictures sometime. She is very proud of it. She told me "I love my pretty purse mommy". Today we also went and got her a library card. So now she will have something besides loose change in her wallet. She is pretty proud that she now has her own library card.

2) GH can make a pig noise with some prompting. But today he made a dog noise. We were reading a book and he was jabbering and pointing out "dog....dog...dog". Then out came the "woof woof". I'm so proud of him:) His favorite phrase remains "Oh no".


3) The kids have been doing lots a crafts. Glitter has been a very popular craft activity this week. I would say I probably have the most sparkling kitchen floor in the neighborhood. It's not clean...just covered with glitter:)


4) As you can see in the picture above GH loves getting on top of the kitchen table. This all began on our last Girls Night Out. My friend Lisa has a daughter GH's age. She told me that her daughter could now climb up on tables. I said "Oh GH doesn't do that" Less than 18 hours later GH began his climbing career. Now I pull him off the table at least 50 times a day;) (Which I don't mind doing) I'd like to say this is Lisa's fault. But, I'm the one with the big mouth.

5) Big Dog is still sick. He now has a different cold and a double ear infection. So he was put on a stronger anti-biotic. We are hoping he is better by Monday and can go to school. Since he has been sick we have been really patient when he strips down and refuses to wear clothes. One day as he was running around the house wearing nothing but a pirate hat I said "Fine Big Dog I'm not going to fight about this anymore. I'm tired of dressing you a million times a day. You can run around with out any clothes if you want to" He shook his butt and said "I will".

6) I'm trying to organize things. I'm failing miserably....it's actually getting worse;D

7) Rooster loves to play dress up. Even though she has an entire dress up closet full of clothes, her favorite dress up clothes belong to Captain Awesome.

Seven Things That Happened This Week


1. On Thursday I had to go pick Big Dog up from school. They had called to let me know that he had fallen asleep in class. When I got there he was in a corner, sprawled out on a bean bag chair snoring away:) But now, he is back to his old self.

2. Rooster has a UTI. So she has medicine she doesn't like. She was doing fine until Big Dog started harassing her. He thought he needed the medicine. So it became a battle. Rooster also has to take showers now. Last night when she was taking her shower she said "Mommy, it's raining in here" I said "I know. Isn't it cool?". She replied "I need an umbrella mommy":)

3. I did a little cleaning and organizing this week. I used the carpet cleaner on the living room floor and it looks SO MUCH better:D I have been adding things to the learning room walls. I have also moved my scrap booking stuff into the old learning storage closet. It looks pretty rough still. But, I'll get it done eventually. I saw this cute idea to organize measuring spoons on the show Table for 12. They had the measuring spoons hanging up on the doors of their spice cabinet. That makes total sense to me because when your measuring seasoning out that where are you are going. Now I won't have to dig for my measuring spoons. Hooray! I'd like to think my SIL Shel would be impressed;)



4. I've been looking for a anti-Obama bumper sticker. There are so many to choose from these days. I still like the B.O. Stinks bumper stickers. But, this one caught my eye.

5. I asked Rooster what she wanted to be when she grew up. She told me "I want to help with friends" I said "Oh you want to be a teacher" She replied "Yes" then a few moments later she said "No I don't want to be teacher". I said "Ok what do you want to do? Do you want to work in a grocery store like daddy?" She said "No" I said "Do you want to work at the doctors office?" She said "No" I said "Do you want to work in the circus?" She said "Yes!" I said "What do you want to do in the circus?" She said "Clown". Perfect my daughter want to be a clown when she grows up. Of course when I was her age I wanted to be a truck driver....at least her job would be fun.

6. GH is taking being cute to a whole new level. He likes driving his cars all over me when we play. He really loves driving the cars around my neck. (He just figured out how to transfer the car from one hand to another when he can't see it. He thinks that its pretty cool.)

7. We went to the apple orchard. It made Captain Awesome and I want to go on more "adventures" with the kids. Ever since school started we haven't been able to make time to do any small trips:( So I think next week we will be going on some mini trips again.

A day in the life of Rocky

Rooster is taking really good care of Rocky. I would say that Rocky has a pretty comfortable life in comparison to other rocks. Rocky has become a member of the family as far as Rooster is concerned. Perhaps it's time to get him a code name for the blog. If he's still around in a week we will come up with a code name for him;)

UPDATE: This morning (Thursday) Rooster came up to me saying "Rocky's gone. I can't find him" She looked upset so I went to look for him. He wasn't in his plastic doll bed. So I looked on Roosters bed since thats where all her "friends" stay at night. I guess Rocky must have climbed in bed with everyone last night;) hahaha

Apple Orchard

Yesterday Big Dog was sent home from school with a fever of 102 degrees. But, with some over the counter products we have managed to keep his temp down. He has been in good spirits. So we figured a day out in the country would be good for him. (Fresh air makes you feel so much better. And we weren't worried about him spreading any germs to anyone because there were no surfaces etc that he was touching) Anyway, onto the pictures.
